Actress Interview

"I am a self-confessed, crazzyy fan of Varun Dhawan!" – Saba Saudagar

You must have seen her hoardings on your way to the office (or school!)… Her presence on TV screen must’ve hit you like a cool breeze on a shiny summer day! There are pretty good chances that you are holding a catalogue of her photo shoots right now and wondering who the lovely lady is!
Meet the beautiful and bubbly-looking actress Saba Saudagar. Saba started off her career as a theatre artist and did several prints and pixels, before she shot to fame in Tollywood’s comedy flick Bunny and Cherry (2013).
Saba Saudagar has starred in several television commercials for reputed brands, including Coca Cola, Mirinda (with actress Asin), Suzuki, NIIT, and McDonald’s, Rooh Afza, and Popular Finance that are aired across India and Pakistan. She has recently shot ad films for Sonyliv.com and Hakim Masala, and is the brand ambassador for joopia.com. “My Tata Docomo ad will be on air soon,” Saba says in excitement, flashing her infectious smile.

Alongside theatre, Saba Saudagarhas has modelled for several print and television commercials.

Saba has also completed shooting for a 90 minute movie with Atul Kulkarni. “The short film is currently under post production and it will be featured at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2014,” she rejoices.
Wonder what Miss Saudagar is like in real life?! “I am a very simple girl. I was born and raised up in Mumbai. I studied at Canossa Convent and Mithibai College. It takes me time to like people.” “Whenever I get free time, I go on long drives,” she adds.
When asked about how she was recognized and her stint in theatre, “I am a trained Kathak dancer from the famous Gopi Krishna Institute (whose students include Jaqueline Fernandez, Jiah Khan, Kangana, Alia Bhat and Diana Penty), and was doing theatre alongside. Being a slight introvert, performing in front of a crowd was a challenge. I had many opportunities from Tele serials but I was more fascinated with the filmy duniya,” Saba recalls laughing. “In a course of time I was getting modelling assignments in advertisements. That’s when I was approached by the makers of Bunny and Cherry. I am very thankful to my producers and director for giving me the opportunity to act in this Telugu film,” she acknowledges.
Speaking of her newest projects, “I’m in a two-film contract with Multi-Dimensional Entertainments. The shooting of my second film will begin soon. I can’t reveal lot about my role, but I was selected from among 650 girls, after a search of over six months!” she prides.

Sharing how she maintains her fitness, “I love to do power yoga with my trainer Charu. She’s simply superb, and I can’t imagine my power yoga sessions without her. I swear that the TRX training I do with my trainer Alia Kara is the best; thank God I found this genuine and sensible trainer.”
Revealing who her Bollywood’s biggest crush is, “I am a self-confessed, crazzyy fan of Varun Dhawan! He sets my heart racing that hadn’t happened in a long time (laughs). He’s so adorable innocent looking and such a cutie; I think he’s a package, hot cute smart well-mannered innocent macho all in one accompanied with great acting and dancing skills!”
“I strongly believe that whatever is meant to happen will always find its way to you,” Saba signs off.
