Lay’s ropes in Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt to bring a smile to our faces

At a time when FMCG brands struggle to stand out in the array of competitor products, Frito Lay’s India has tapped on to the universal solution to distress – a smile. An ‘out of the box’ (like literally) campaign ‘Smile Deke Dekho’ is based on the conception that smile is a ubiquitous connector of people globally.
Lay’s is embracing the trend of integrated advertising with this slick immersive campaign ranging from packaging design to influencer marketing. As a part of this multi-channel campaign front, the Potato Chip brand has launched a TVC featuring power couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
In the TVC titled Train Pe Tussle, Ranbir and Alia are shown to be engaged in playful banter. Revolving around a quirky meet-cute in a train compartment, the protagonists meet, fight, and makeup with a punch line – all in a matter of 30 seconds.

 
The key to good advertising has always been engulfed in the art of storytelling. This TVC, made memorable by a heartening tale, proves yet again that in advertising, it is the story that takes center stage.
