Ujjwala has her ideas of beauty in place
Modelling as a career is considered short term; it’s always a stepping stone to being in Bollywood or Hollywood or a fashion entrepreneur. All of these are possibile scenarios and it has been a trend to transition from being a model to being in the fashion industry. Yes there have been that select few who have been able to hold that title down and known just for being a model. But that’s uncommon. Because of the age factor models are considered to have a short shelf life and this becomes one of the biggest hurdles in their careers.
Breaking these stereotypes is not as easy, what with the social norms and the ideas of beauty that the profession promotes and how the people and the society perceives it. While the statement that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder maybe a statement that applies to people in daily life, it’s not something the this profession necessary goes by.
It’s such a volatile industry, that when someone like Ujjwala Raut who has modelled for national and international biggies including Roberto Cavalli, Dolce & Gabbana and Victoria’s Secret to name a few, talks about sticking to her guns, being a full time model and planning to become a coach, so she can share her knowledge and experience with up and coming talent, it is highly inspiring.
