Indians or Brazilians, ad divas are all adored here…. 😉 Upon popular demand, IAD has introduced a new section dedicated to Brazilians beauties who are beaconing in the Indian Advertising Industry (and the Bollywood at large!).
Let’s start this initiative with subtle beauty Giselle Monteiro, the girl who was introduced as a traditional Punjabi kudi Harleen Kaur in Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal. The director concealed the identity of this 19-year old (at the time of film’s release) to bestow the Indianness upon the Brazilian lass for the 2009 flick (and yes, it did work!).
Born in Sao Mateus, Espirito Santo, on 16 November 1988, Giselle started modelling at the age of 17! She has traveled across the nations on her modelling assignments before moving to the baap of glamour world: Mumbai in 2008.
The Brazilian model-cum-Indian-actress portrayed every scene on the big screen, maneuvering her innocent face to emote the feelings of her role, and of course, the very Indian ethnic wear (the colorful Churidars and gorgeous Sarees!) added to her performance. Miss Monteiro went onto join the cast of another Bollywood movie – Always Kabhi Kabhi, in 2011. She’s currently working in a comedy flick titled Pranam Walekum.
Giselle endorses a handful of brands in India, including PC Jewellers, Westside, Movil Mobiles, Wills Lifestyle, Cadbury Choclairs, Kaya Skin, Taj Hotels, Cool Japan, Lodha Florenza, and is face of the boutiques Kashish India and Jhoomar. She was also featured on covers of some of the most glamorous magazines – Elle, Femina, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, Maxim, among others.
